A CLOSER WALK - A Film About AIDS In The World provides a definitive portrayal of humankind's confrontation with the global AIDS pandemic.

10 Dec

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Narrated by Glenn Close & Will Smith with insights from the Dalai Lama, Kofi Annan & Bono, the film combines stories of children, women & men living with AIDS & those caring for them on four continents. Breathtaking cinematography weaves together elements of health, dignity & human rights in a film that is not only about a deadly infectious disease, but also about the human condition. A moving, thought-provoking & ultimately inspiring look into the worst pandemic ever experienced in human history.

Free Wollongong screening on Wednesday 10th December 08 at 7.30pm at the Illawarra Performing Arts Centre. To secure your seat, call the HIV/AIDS Related Programmes Unit on 4221 6700 or email Damian.Castles@sesiahs.health.nsw.gov.au for further information.

WARNING: This film rated MA 15+

Hey all,

Looks like we will be going to Uganda in April next year! Woohooooo!! We are just waiting on some more info about what projects there are to be involved in before we decide exactly what we will be doing, then we will be starting to get very excited... :-)

We are going with African Enterprise: http://aeinternational.org/australia/ which is the crew we went to Malawi with. We really respect them as an agency - love how they are all about Africans reaching Africans for Christ, not whiteys running the show; and that they have a big Aid and Development arm (hehe...imagining a big arm...anyway!) which is where we are looking to be involved.

Will keep you posted! Ro <><

so, dumpster diving (skip dipping) hey? its the goods... last nights bounty included King Island Blue cheese, camembert, brie, socks(!), flavoured milk, juice, dips, sugar, tonnes of yoghurt and ye good ole fruit, veg and bread.

it is making me cranky. what kind of society do we live in that supermarkets throw out masses and masses of food but soup kitchens struggle along on donations and people go without?! where's the common sense?~!
